I have really been slack about getting on here. I hope to do better. I now have my chickens and loving every minute I spend time with them....anxious for spring to see the robin's egg blue ones my Ameraucana's will lay.

The Ladies

Finally got some laying hen. Will post pictures later on. Got 4 hens, and two chicks that are in the house in a small pen...I'll sure be glad when they're old enough to go out...haaa

CHICKENS, ANYONE???

I have built a chicken pen, coop and two laying boxes. Now I'm ready for the laying hens. I want to start out with young pullets. any ideas would be appreciated....thanks

busy as a bee

speaking of bees, they're buzzing around now that the flowers are blooming, and soon my garden will be full, I'm sure. My son-in-law has his new hives up and getting ready to release his honey bees. I'm excited...I love honey.

My best friend made this birdhouse for me...and you will also see my bottle tree made from an old cedar tree that I cut the limbs to size, buried, and put all the old vintage bottles I've found on.

I've been so busy this spring, as it came so early here in SC. I now have "no" fingernails and what little I do has dirt under them....I just can't bring myself to wear gloves. Glad I keep a nice bottle of Burts Bee's handy for nighttime.  Here are some of the "goings on" around my place this spring...enjoy...hugs, noah

 Now, you may laugh.....I am so bad on tools...yes, I broke the one "leg/arm" off this post hold digger and rather than junk it, I used it as a "gazing ball"(even tho it's not a "gazing" ball) holder...I think it's kinda cute...especially when my grass gets green and the flowers come up around it and bloom.

 My Lady Banks rose is doing just fine this year....

 Pretty in pink....

 My lilacs had much bigger blooms last year, but I forgot to fertilize them in the fall. The Bible tells us that Heaven will be like nothing we can imagine, but I think lilacs smell as close to Heaven as I can imagine....

 and this beautiful azalea has had a number of trimmings over the years...wonder how large it would have been by now if I hadn't????

 I rescued this snowball bush after it had been bush hogged down. I was so angry that someone would do that, but I found this one little piece that still had roots and alas, after babying it, this is the 3rd year and now it's giving me blooms....

 Love my weather vanes...have 3 now and will keep collecting.....

 Wish this would stay in bloom all summer. It smells good and is just lovely....I believe it's a Honeysuckle tree.

Valentines Card

Working on my first ever, homemade Valentine card, ... well, since I was little.  Going good so far.......enjoying it...but my fingers are about glued together....

HOT AT 68*

Working on my new greeting card, as well as working outside today. Sure is hot. My pond is a wreck, my birdhouses need repainting and fixing, I need someone to cut some trees. I can cut the lower limbs with my small chainsaw but can't reach or do the bigger ones.....leaves everywhere except where they should be...woe is me...haaaaa, hugs....noah

Early Spring....nope, doubt it

The weather has been so warm and wet this early year, my plants demands that spring be sprung. Poor things, it will turn very cold, hopefully snow, but they will be back in a few months....enjoy an early spring with me....and of course my favorite....my header....the winter rose...have a wonderful day....hugs, noah

DIYing etc.

I love these two little boxes. My best friends gave them to me as a gift, knowing I'd probably do something or add something to them. The first one had a design of a simple birdhouse, etc., so I needed something with shelves and a drawer in my kitchen to hole medication, salt and pepper shakers, toothpicks, etc. I like the end result...

then this other little box, is darling..it has a piece of plexy for the lid but didn't have a knob or handle, but now it does....I think it's rather darling...

not sure yet what it will house, but I know I will find something to fill it....

Had a wonderful visit with my two best friends...just wish it could have been longer....

My "Mammy" Friend

One of my best friends collects everything "Mammy". Her granddaughter, whom she is raising, has always called her Mammy. She loves all the old vintage things of Mammy.

I had this old lid to a vintage wood stove, so I made this for her. She loves drawing pictures of "herself" as Mammy in "Paint" adding a little note as to how she "Mammy" is feeling.

Ceiling Medalion

I decided to make my own ceiling medalion, however I have not put it up yet. I will be hanging a swag lamp from this that I am currently making. This is made from vintage cloth, paint, broken glass and lots of poly, and a small center rose-thingie that I happened to have..
